Careca to Debut for Garforth Town on Saturday

1986 and 1990 World-Cup star Careca is to make his debut for non-league Garforth Town in England this Saturday against Guiseley AFC.

The 44-year-old, will don the yellow number nine shirt and is joining Garforth Town as part of their preseason training programme.

Garforth owner and coach, Simon Clifford, said: "Having worked with Careca during the past week, I am delighted with his fitness and approach to this fixture. Although our first friendly fixture, Garforth Town are approaching this game in a very serious manner.

"This is something more than the brief cameo appearance of Socrates. Careca will play a full ninety minutes and will feature at other points this season.

Clifford also promised that he hoped to pair Careca with Romario, later in the year.
